Ladysmith Black Mambazo

Ladysmith Black Mambazo Book online

'A joyful show…their voices blended together seamlessly, as perfectly in tune and in time as a vocal ensemble could hope to be.' The Times

'They may have been around for 45 years but these guys jig around like a young athletic team in colourful smocks and white trainers.' Evening Standard

'Tight harmonies and swirling melody filled the stage with music as complex and engaging as any band with a dozen instruments could hope for' Huffington Post

It was Paul Simon’s Graceland that brought them to the attention of the world and since then Ladysmith Black Mambazo have been touching audiences the world over with their powerful, emotive and uplifting South African sound. Blending the complex rhythms and harmonies of their homeland with the sturdy sentiments of gospel, their a capella voices come together to create a phenomenon astonishingly bigger than its parts, filling the stage with whispering chants, fearsome choruses and wild dance moves. Nelson Mandela professed them to be 'South Africa’s cultural ambassadors', and they will be bring the party to Belfast Festival after reuniting with Paul Simon for the Graceland tour this summer.
