We rely on many volunteers to ensure that the festival runs smoothly. From helping out backstage or front of house, to marketing or artist liaison, you can be part of a winning team, enjoy the buzz of working on a festival, and receive free tickets to events.
2009 saw an unprecedented 160 applications from people wanting to volunteer during the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's. "We couldn't run a Festival of this scale without them," said Festival Director Graeme Farrow. "They are tremendous ambassadors for the Festival and help out in so many ways. The logistics of stewarding audiences in venues as diverse as the Elmwood Hall and the Corry Road Car Park at Clarendon Dock is made so much easier by having a core team of enthusiastic volunteers. I did feel for them this year as they braved the elements at the outdoor Macbeth, handing out POLSKA! YEAR raincoats to people on arrival to make sure they stayed somewhat dry during the production!"
